1

Create your TradeVision account

Sign up with your email and confirm it from the email we send. Your dashboard then shows your licence key (it begins with TV-) and the Download button. The same key is in your welcome email.

2

Install MetaTrader 5 and log in

  1. Download MT5 from your broker's website (so their servers are pre-loaded) and install it.
  2. Open a demo account in MT5 (File → Open an Account) or log in with the demo details your broker gave you.
  3. Wait until prices are moving in the Market Watch window — that means MT5 is connected.
Keep MT5 open whenever TradeVision is running. TradeVision uses the account MT5 is logged into.
3

Allow algorithmic trading in MT5

  1. In MT5, open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors.
  2. Tick Allow algorithmic trading.
  3. Untick "Disable algorithmic trading when the account has been changed" and "…when the profile has been changed", so switching between demo and real doesn't silently turn it off.
  4. Click OK. On the main toolbar, the Algo Trading button must be green (click it if it's red).
If Algo Trading is off, TradeVision cannot place orders. The app shows ALGO OFF in red at the top until you turn it on.
4

Install TradeVision

  1. Click Download in your dashboard and run TradeVision-Setup.exe.
  2. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. This appears for newer software; only do it for the installer from your dashboard.
  3. Follow the installer. It adds a desktop shortcut and installs any Windows components it needs.
If your antivirus stops the app, add an exception for the TradeVision folder, then reinstall.
5

Activate your licence

  1. Make sure MT5 is open and logged in, then start TradeVision.
  2. Paste your licence key and click Activate.
  3. The licence locks to this PC and to the MT5 account that is open. Your licence covers one real account and up to ten demo accounts on this PC — switching between them later is automatic.
TradeVision always starts paused. Nothing trades until you press Start in step 8.
6

Choose your instruments

Open the Instruments tab. It lists every symbol your broker offers. Brokers often add a suffix to names — gold may be XAUUSD, XAUUSDm, XAUUSD.r or GOLD. Pick the one that matches your account.

  • Start with two or three instruments you know (for example gold and EUR/USD).
  • Switch each one on with its toggle.
  • Skip symbols marked as not tradable on your account (MT5 trade mode 0).
7

Set each instrument

Click ⚙ next to an instrument. A preset fills sensible starting values; then check:

  • Strategy — see the strategies for what each looks for.
  • Size — Risk % (we suggest 0.5–1% to start) and a maximum lot size.
  • Stop, target and trailing — keep the preset at first.
  • Trading hours — only the sessions you want, and only while the market is open.
  • Max spread — skips entries while the spread is unusually wide.

Then open Settings and set your daily limits: maximum trades, maximum loss and, if you like, a daily profit target.

8

Start and watch

  1. Check the top bar: your account, DEMO, and ALGO in green.
  2. Press ▶ Start Auto Trading.
  3. Watch the Dashboard tiles and the Activity tab — they say what each instrument is waiting for and why a trade was taken or skipped.
Done. Strategies wait for their setup on closed candles, so it's normal to see no trades for a while — especially outside the main sessions.

Going live — checklist

Before switching MT5 to your real account, check each point:

  • ☐ You have run it on demo for at least a few days and read the Activity log.
  • ☐ Risk per trade is small (0.5–1%) and a maximum lot size is set.
  • ☐ Daily loss and trade limits are set in Settings.
  • ☐ Trading hours match when each market is open and liquid.
  • ☐ The real account has the same symbol names (suffixes can differ between demo and real).
  • ☐ Atomic Scalper only on a hedging account.
  • ☐ Your PC or VPS will stay on and online while trading.

Then log MT5 in to the real account. TradeVision links it automatically the first time; check the top bar shows REAL before pressing Start. Your settings are kept per instrument.

Trading involves risk of loss. Only trade money you can afford to lose. Past results do not guarantee future results.

PC, VPS & moving

Keeping it running

Set Windows to never sleep while plugged in (Settings → System → Power) and turn on automatic time (Settings → Time & language). If your PC restarts, open MT5 first, then TradeVision, then press Start.

Using a Windows VPS

A VPS is a Windows computer in a data centre that stays on all the time. Choose Windows Server 2019 or newer with 2 GB RAM or more, preferably near your broker's servers. Connect with Remote Desktop and follow steps 2–8 there. Use the VPS as your licensed PC.

Moving to a new PC or a different real account

  1. Close all TradeVision trades (or let them finish) on the old PC.
  2. In your dashboard, click Move to a new PC. Two transfers a year are included.
  3. Install TradeVision on the new PC and activate with the same key.

Updates

TradeVision checks for updates when it starts. Updates are signed and verified before installing, and your settings are kept. Your licence renews itself in the background — renew before it ends to keep your current price.
